Mary is a SENIOR!!!!
OK I planned on writing more then "Mary is a senior", I just got distracted by Kathryn. So, Mary started High School today as a senior! Yeah that's right! In Minnesota Mary is a junior, in Montana Mary is a senior. We were super freaked out when we went in to see the junior counselor to plan Mary's schedule and she looked at Mary's transcript and said "your not a junior your a senior, there is no way around it! You need to get senior pictures done asap and I will change your graduation year to '09." What???? Mary and I just sat there in shock and let her give Mary a class schedule. When we got to the car Mary said " I feel like crying" and I said "I am crying" and Mary said "great now I can't cry because it would be weird if we both cried at the same time!" She cried later in the evening when I wasn't looking. We are over the initial shock and called the school back and redid her whole schedule with out the confused haze and with the help of the senior counselor. We are starting to get excited and to talk about taking the ACT and what might happen next year. We are worried about seminary, because Mary won't be able to get 4 years in and graduate, bummer. In MN you need 30 credits to graduate HS and in Montana you need 22. Mary has 16 already and can get 7 this year if she wants, she is going to take 6 credits, only 3 are needed for graduation the rest are electives. Mary is taking precalc. as an elective and she found out today that she can get credit at the University for it. Yes, I have asked that question of 5 different people including the principal and was told you can't get college credit for anything in Missoula, "we don't have anything worked out with the U like that". Well I guess they have something worked out with the U and Mary is totally psyched! Mary has been telling everyone we meet "I am 17 and I'm a junior" now she has changed that to "I am 16 and a senior" Chris and Mary will try to do some senior pictures this week end. Mary said it will be totally fun if she chooses for it to be. Words of wisdom from my 16 year old, if you know Mary you know it could go either way, totally fun or torture...

mary mary mary, you are sooo young to be a senior!!! you are such a big girl <3 <3
i am sure you will do great and i love you :)
30 credits!! That's insane, how are you supposed to get 30 credits in 4 years time!?? I am SO excited for Mary, she will have such a fun year but you'll miss her next year when she's off at BYU!!
Maybe it is only 30 credits in Buffalo, I'm not sure. Buffalo has a block schedule where you take 4 classes at a time and 8 total for the year...
Go Mary! You worked hard to get ahead, and now you a whole year ahead! Hard work and brains and beauty--what a winning combination! Love you!
Way to go Mary!!!! You have worked so hard at your studies and look what happened. You're a SENIOR already. I will watch for updates on how it's going. Very scary and very exciting at the same time. Lots to do, lots of tests but lots of fun. Love You. Grandma
Thank you everyone! I am super excited about the whole ordeal!
