Jerry Johnson Hot Springs

We drove to Idaho on Saturday, just over the border from Montana. On a quest to find Jerry Johnson Hot Springs. Literally in the middle of nowhere, 50 miles from a gas station in both directions. We had to hike about 1.5-2 miles to the hot springs. Sadly Mary was sick and stayed home. She loves to be home alone though and just watched movies all day. The above picture is Jack and Kathryn on the suspension bridge on the way to Jerry Johnson Hot Springs.
Chris is carrying a pack filled with towels, and water shoes, much heavier on the way back with everything soaked.
We saw this big fella next to the path. Kathryn said "lets go get a ride" We think this bull moose is rather young as it has a very small rack. Pretty cool to see, it started to walk towards us which freaked us out a little. I'm just glad all we saw was a moose, I really don't want to run into a bear. Next to the path we saw a deer leg, it was licked clean, bones with a hoof on the end. I thought: hmm what animal left this behind? I thought about it almost the whole hike, I tend to get a little paranoid, being a Swede and a Minnesotan, I'm always planning for the worst.
It was about 42 degrees out, I'm wearing a pair of Chris's fleece pants which turn out to not be wind proof. Kathryn walked most of the way, but I carried her occasionally to speed things up.
The water looked pretty dirty, when you step or sit it stirs up all kinds of stuff which settles all over your skin. It didn't smell like sulfur at all. It was really fun, an adventure!

Just to straighten out a little matter of your heritage, you are Norwegian not Swedish, and that is only half, the rest is IRISH. And then of course there is that German stuff from your father, but that really doesn't count. Awesome photos, I'm happy the moose stayed in the bushes.

Just to straighten out a little matter of who posted this blog, it was Polly and I am Swedish. I would've thought you'd know that Chris worries about nothing. Bear? Mountain Lion, ya whatever...

Okay, so I apologize, but then it's not my fault you're Swedish. I still will love you.
