Look how cute he is with a Santa hat on.
Mary of course tromped through the woods with out a coat on. I've given up even trying with her. I do love the hat and the big smile though!
Kathryn feel asleep on the way and missed out on all the running through the woods part, but Mary brought a treat for Kathryn so she was happy when she woke up. She is eating a Little Debbie Nutty Bar.
Believe me, Chris was warm in his new Eddie Bauer 700 fillpower down Yukon Jacket. Hehe
Last Friday we went to cut down our Christmas tree. We followed the road we live on into the mountains for about 25 minutes, trying to beat the setting sun. It was lots of fun running around trying to find the perfect tree, which wasn't easy. We got a $5 permit to cut a tree from the Forest Department. We were super excited, in Minnesota we always went to a tree farm and had a lovely time with hot cocoa and sleigh rides, but expensive trees. Our tree is a little pathetic, very thin, but our home is small and we don't have a lot of room for a big full tree. I'll post pics of it decorated next. Chris said it is the only tree he has ever seen look worse with lights and ornaments on it and sadly it it true. It makes me happy to look at it though and Kathryn is loving it. She is worse then a cat though, every time I turn around she is crawling under it to pretend she is a present or crawling behind it to "get something". Believe me there is nothing behind it except all the ornaments she keeps knocking down trying to get back there. Christmas is so fun for 3 year olds!

Beautiful pics of the kids. What fun memories they will have of growing up with great family traditions. Love the tree, be the tree, your beauty will shine though. (a little advice from Michael Caine).
Its almost like the Charlie Brown tree only there is no magical power to make it suddenly grow...its a very sad tree.
Don't call your tree sad, it is a happy tree to be in your home for Christmas. There is only a little 3' tree in our house and it's not real. But it is a happy tree too because it is Christmas. I love the photos of the whole process, I miss you guys so much. There will be a hole in our celebration where you all should be.
