Hiking with Kathryn

There is a sweet nature trail/county park in our neighborhood.  This evening Kathryn and I took a hike there.  We had lots of fun.  We scared up deer three times, we floated a dandelion down the little stream, we went over the little wooden bridges again and again, and we picked wild flowers.  We followed the less traveled trail, so we had to guess once in a while where to go.  Kathryn loved it.  At one point she left the trail completely and went to explore and I said "Kathryn the number one rule of hiking is to always stay on the trail so you don't get lost".  She replied "Don't worry Mom, you won't get lost, you'll be with me".  I felt safer...

:) Way to go Polly! You're raising another sufficiently empowered female! I love your "mom" pictures -- they say much! :)
